Pet of the Week Beauty

Our pet of the week is a beautiful tiger cat named Beauty (hence the name).  She's a sweet cat but has been here for quite some time so we'd like to find her a great home.  Beauty came to us as a kitten and lives in one of the colonies here.  She's a very docile cat and gets along well with other pets.  Beauty is four years old now and spends a lot of her time lounging around but still has plenty of energy to play when the mood strikes her.

Pet of the Week P.J.

Our pet of the week is a cute little dog named P.J.  P.J. has been with us for about three years now and is a real favorite.  He's a Fox Terrier-Jack Russell mix and a must for anyone looking for a small dog.  He still has a lot of energy and loves attention and to get his play time.  But P.J. seems to know when it's time to calm down and can be a great lap dog as well.

Pet of the Week Penny

Our pet of the week is a sweet Pitbull mix named Penny who came to us from a rather strange situation.  Her owners left their home, leaving Penny and another dog behind.  Penny was left in a kennel with no food or water.  The other dog, Capone, was chained in a garage with food and water he could not reach.  Both came to the Humane Society for plenty of tlc and Capone has since found an adoptive home.  But Penny is still looking.  She's a sweet girl and would make a great pet.

Pet of the Week Tracy

Hi, my name is Tracy! I am a female, about two years old. I am pure white, with only a soft smudge of gray on my forehead. I was brought to the shelter with a terrible injury to one of my back legs. The leg had to be amputated, but thanks to the nice people here, I am all healed up and get around very well! I’ve been brought up to live in the office area, because I am still quite shy. I’m quickly getting used to being out and about, and being around different people. I’ve discovered that it is VERY nice to be petted, and I’m learning that toys are really fun! Please ask if you would like to meet me! I’m already spayed and current on vaccines, and ready to go to a nice, quiet Forever Home!

Pet of the Week Zeb

Our pet of the week is a beautiful dog with a personality to match named Zeb.  He's pretty shy at first but once he gets to know you, you'll be inseparable.
He came in to the Humane Society with twenty other Plot Hounds from a hoarding case in Bluffton.  There were approximately sixty Plot Hounds on the property living in sheds off of bread and dirty water.
But Zeb holds no grudges and loves humans and other dogs.

Pet of the Week Jack

Our pet of the week is a beautiful black cat named Jack.  Not much is known about Jack because he chewed up the card containing his information.  This much we do know...he's a friendly boy and loves people.  He is a favorite among our Animal Care Techs.  Jack is very playful and has plenty of energy.

Pet of the Week Lilly

Our pet of the week is a very loving dog who really needs a special home.  Lilly was actually adopted out from the Humane Society back in 2007 and was a happy-go-lucky German Shepherd mix.  Her owner took her on vacation with him and she slipped away and was gone for a week.  She came back with obvious neurological damage, possible from a stroke.   He brought her back to us and she initially had very little movement, basically sleeping all day.  But she has made gradual improvement and now will walk and run up and down the hall.  We keep her up front in the offices to monitor her and she is on the comeback trail.

Pet of the Week Capone

Our pet of the week is a very energetic dog named Capone.  He's a two and a half year old Yellow Lab mix and came to us after we rescued him from another shelter that was planning to euthanize him.
He's a sweet boy, loves people, and gets ecstatic when you take him outside for a walk.  They say dogs don't show emotion but we get a big kick out of him because he always looks like he's smiling.  Capone is just a treat to be around and can pick you up when you're having a bad day.

Pet of the Week Baby

Our pet of the week is a Tiger cat mix named Baby.  She's about four years old now and lives in the colony with some of the larger cats at the shelter.  She's friendly but independent enough that she gets bored at being a lap cat after about five minutes.
Baby loves to sit up on tables and toys to look out over the rest of the cats, like she sees herself as the teacher with the rest of her roomies as the students.  She's a beautiful cat looking for a loving home.

Pet of the Week Jonah

Our pet of the week is Jonah, a six year old black cat who lives in one of the colonies here at the Humane Society.  He's a low-maintenance cat, meaning he likes when you pet him but isn't the type to come seek out affection.  He's just as happy lying in his bed or sitting up in the window wishing he could get to the birds outside.  Jonah also gets along well with other cats.

Pet of the Week Marcus

Our pet of the week is a sweet Staffordshire Terrier named Marcus.  He was brought in to the Humane Society after his owner decided to go away for a three-day weekend and leave Marcus and a Doberman behind in a crate outside with no food or water.  The Doberman has since been adopted but Marcus is still waiting.
He's a good boy, about four years old now, and looking for a great home.
