Pet of the Week

Pet of the Week Traci

Our pet of the week is a beautiful white cat (little gray spot on top of head) named Tracy.  Tracy is a great story because she's taking great strides in the socialization process.  She hangs out in the front offices and still tends to be pretty shy.  But she is coming around and will occasionally pop her head in to be petted or simply to roll around on her back and then jump underneath a blanket.
She came to the Humane Society with a severe injury to her leg which eventually had to be amputated.  But she gets around great and has no problems racing up and down the hallway.  Tracy is a wonderful success story and needs a loving home to continue coming out of her shell.

Pet of the Week Della

Here's our pet of the week.  Her name is Della and she's a four or five year old Tri-Color Walker, which is basically a fancy way of saying she's a type of coon hound.  She's a beautiful dog and loves taking walks, usually with her nose to the ground.
She was only at the Humane Society for a week or so before she had a litter of ten pups, who have all since been adopted.
Della is a wonderful dog and very full of joy.

Pet of the Week Pixie

Our pet of the week is a beautiful little cat named Pixie.  She's actually one of our veterans here and just turned six years old.  She's very unique in appearance and is a mix of a gray tiger and tortie.  Pixie takes just a few minutes to warm up to you but we'll be very affectionate once she gets to know you.  She, like many of the cats here, also has a much more pleasant disposition when she's outside of her cage.  Pixie would make a great pet!

Pet of the Week Echo

Our pet of the week is Echo, a black cat with plenty of personality.  He is very affectionate most of the time but can be moody.  One minute he'll be rubbing against your leg...the next he just wants to be left alone.  He came to us as a kitten about a year ago and has always had a very unique personality.  But we feel he'd make a great pet.

Pet of the Week Remy

Our pet of the week is a beautiful black and white Staffordshire Terrier name Remy.  He's around a year old and weighs just under sixty pounds.  Remy is a gentle giant who actually came in as a pup with his brother Rogue who has since been adopted.   Both were in bad shape due to owner neglect but the staff here fixed them up and got them in tip top shape.
He's very playful and a sweet boy who would make a great companion.

Pet of the Week Mr. Vickers

This is  Mr. Vickers.  He was hit by a car a couple months ago and as a result, had an eye that had become detached from the socket.
Dr. Babbit at Lima Animal Hospital performed surgery on the eye, put it back in the socket, and it has healed up nicely.  He may never have any vision out of the eye or just limited at best.
Mr. Vickers is a sweet cat and loves to hang on and hug you...truly a great success story!

Pet of the Week Bosco

Our pet of the week is Bosco, a four-year-old male Tiger Cat.  He seems to be a favorite because of his unique appearance.  Bosco has a very round head, almost owl-like in appearance.
He has a great personality and is extremely mellow.  He doesn't scratch or bite and one of his favorite hobbies is plopping over on his back to get his belly rubbed.
